Reading Travel on the Digital Read-Out
The part rests on the 200 mm x 100 mm glass plate and is lit from below by the sub-stage lamp, so its outline shows dark against a bright field. As the stage runs on its ball bearing guides, the digital read-out shows the travel directly: set the eyepiece reference on one edge, zero the display, move to the other edge and read the dimension. Angles are taken with the graduated eyepiece protractor.
