Low Ohms Meter

Product Code : EL-ARTVMCT-1243
Jlab Export is a leading Low Ohms Meter Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Low Ohms Meter (code EL-ARTVMCT-1243) is a battery-powered meter for measuring very low resistances — loose contacts and dry soldering in electronic assemblies, and the low resistance of other electrical appliances. It has two ranges, 10 to 400 milliohms and 1 to 40 ohms, a 90 mm scale, and works on a single 1.5 V cell; a probe is supplied. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

Choose the Low Ohms Meter for joints, contacts and anything under 40 ohms where milliohm resolution matters; the Ohms Meter suits general resistance readings up to its higher full-scale ranges.

What Is the Low Ohms Meter Used For?

A dry (poorly wetted) solder joint, a loose screw terminal or a worn contact adds only a small resistance, often too small to show on the ohms range of an ordinary meter, yet it can cause heating, voltage drop and intermittent faults. On the milliohm range this meter shows that extra resistance, so a technician can compare a suspect joint with a sound one. The ohm range covers the low resistances found in other electrical appliances. It is useful on electronics assembly and repair benches, in ITI and polytechnic electrical and electronics workshops, and in college labs where students need to see how small wire and contact resistances are.

Measure only with the circuit switched off. Clean the probe tip and the test point first, because oxide and dirt add resistance at milliohm level, and press the probe firmly so the reading settles. Replace the 1.5 V cell when readings become unsteady, and remove it if the meter will be stored for a long time.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 meters; workshops often plan one per bench.
  • Spare probes — the meter comes with a probe; list any spares you want in the same enquiry.
  • Companion meters — add an Ohms Meter or a Digital Multimeter if you also need higher resistance ranges or voltage and current readings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a low ohms meter measure?
Very low resistances. This model is listed for loose contacts and dry soldering in electronic assemblies and for the low resistances of other electrical appliances, on ranges of 10 to 400 milliohms and 1 to 40 ohms.

What power source does it use?
It works on a single 1.5 V cell, so it needs no mains supply and can be carried to the bench or equipment being checked.

Is a probe included?
Yes. The listing states that the meter comes with a probe. Ask JLab if you need spare probes with your order.

How is it different from the JLab Ohms Meter?
The Low Ohms Meter reads down to the milliohm level, with a top range of 1 to 40 ohms. The Ohms Meter is a panel-mounting moving-coil meter with full-scale ranges of 100 to 1000 ohms, intended for ordinary resistance values.

Who manufactures this meter?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly as the maker.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electrical and electronic lab instruments manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Low Ohms Meter comes from JLab’s own works, not from a trader, so training institutes, colleges, dealers and importers buy factory-direct, each meter is visually checked before dispatch, and repeat orders and spare probes are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Egypt in North Africa, Zimbabwe in East Africa, Malta in Southern Europe, Tajikistan in Central Asia and Paraguay in South America. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
