Spot Reflecting Galvanometer Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-ARTVMCT-1239
Jlab Export is a leading Spot Reflecting Galvanometer Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Spot Reflecting Galvanometer (code EL-ARTVMCT-1239) is a self-reflecting galvanometer with a built-in lamp and scale, used as a sensitive current detector and null indicator in bridge and potentiometer experiments in school, college and university physics labs. It is housed in a Bakelite case with a universal shunt, supplied with a step-down transformer, and offered with a 100 Ω or 500 Ω coil. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Galvanometers?
| Model | How it is read | Coil resistance | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|---|
| This galvanometer (EL-ARTVMCT-1239) | Light spot on the built-in scale (lamp built in) | 100 Ω or 500 Ω | Bakelite case; universal shunt; step-down transformer |
| D'Arsonval Galvanometer | Scale graduated 70-0-70 (centre zero) on a special tripod | 200 Ω | Bakelite case; 3 µA per division; lockable arrangement |
| Ballistic Galvanometer Reflecting | Mirror of 50 cm focal length; no lamp and scale listed | Not listed | Coil on a phosphor bronze strip; screws and clamp |
Choose this model when you want lamp, scale and shunt in one case; the ballistic galvanometer is meant for charge measurements and needs a separate reading arrangement.
What Is the Spot Reflecting Galvanometer Used For?
In a spot galvanometer the lamp throws a beam onto a small mirror on the moving coil, and the reflected spot moves along the scale as a long, weightless pointer, so very small deflections are easy to see. That makes it a good null detector for Wheatstone and meter bridge experiments, the Carey Foster bridge and potentiometer work in class 12 and B.Sc. physics labs.
The universal shunt protects the coil: begin on the 1/1000 setting for a rough balance and move to the more sensitive settings as the balance is approached. Use it on a level, vibration-free bench away from strong light so the spot stays clear.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Coil resistance — 100 Ω or 500 Ω. As a general guide, a galvanometer is most sensitive as a null detector when its coil resistance is of the same order as the circuit it is connected across.
- Mains supply — state your supply voltage so the step-down transformer is quoted to suit it.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which coil resistances are available?
100 Ω or 500 Ω. State the one you need; if unsure, tell JLab which experiment it is for.
Do I need a separate lamp and scale?
No. The lamp and scale are built in, and a step-down transformer is supplied with the galvanometer.
What are the universal shunt ratios?
The listing gives 1/10 and 1/1000, with the middle ratio written as “1/00”, which is most likely 1/100. JLab will confirm the ratios in the quotation.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics and electrical lab instrument manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and working from Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This galvanometer is built at JLab’s own works, not sourced from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers order from the manufacturer directly. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Romania in Eastern Europe, the USA in North America, Taiwan in East Asia, Kuwait in the Middle East and Sudan in North Africa. Tender buyers can also see the JLab lab tenders page.
