What Is the Microslide Photosynthesis Set Used For?
The eight images follow photosynthesis from raw materials to stored product. The green leaf at two magnifications shows the cells and chloroplasts where light is captured, root hair and vascular bundles show how water reaches the leaf and how sugars are carried away, and the variegated leaf and the leaves kept with and without sunlight illustrate the classic starch tests — starch forms only where there is chlorophyll and light. Starch grains and the bean seed show where the products are stored. Because the images are photographs taken through a microscope, a whole class can discuss the same view, which suits nutrition in plants in middle school and photosynthesis lessons in class 10 and class 11.
Frequently Asked Questions
What images are on the Microslide?
Eight: green leaf at 110x, root hair, green leaf at 350x, vascular bundles, bean seed, a variegated leaf, leaf with and without sunlight, and starch grains.
Is a viewer included?
No. A Microslide Viewer is listed separately by JLab; add it to your enquiry if you need one.
Can it replace a practical starch test?
It is a visual aid, not a practical kit. Use it to prepare or review the experiment; for hands-on work JLab lists the Investigating Photosynthesis class kit.
Who supplies the Microslide Photosynthesis set?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), Ambala, Haryana, India. It is a Microslide product, and JLab quotes for it directly with its own biology range.
Supplier
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a school and college lab equipment company incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Next to the biology apparatus it makes, JLab resells selected teaching resources from other brands, including Microslide lesson sets, so schools and dealers can complete a biology order in one place; each set is visually inspected before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Turkey in the Middle East, Singapore in Southeast Asia, Uganda in East Africa, Angola in Central Africa and Romania in Eastern Europe. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
