Product Code : EL-SI-8044
Jlab Export is a leading Self Inductance Bridge Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Self Inductance Bridge (code EL-SI-8044) is a bridge for finding the self-inductance of a coil, with a ratio arm of two dials (1, 10, 100 and 1000 ohm), a three-dial resistance arm in decades of 0.1, 1 and 10, a slide wire divided into 170 equal parts and a special double key. It is used in B.Sc. physics and electrical measurement labs, and doubles as a Wheatstone bridge. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Self Inductance Bridge Used For?
A coil has both resistance and inductance, and a bridge method has to deal with both. With this bridge the coil is first balanced for steady current like an ordinary Wheatstone bridge, using the ratio arm, the decade resistance arm and the slide wire. The bridge is then checked for the effect of the coil’s self-inductance when the current is switched on or off, which shows up as a momentary throw of the galvanometer. The double key closes the battery and galvanometer circuits in the order the method needs, and the 0.17 ohm slide in series with the coil, read against the 170-division slide wire, allows fine adjustment while keeping the arithmetic simple.
The experiment belongs to the electromagnetic induction and AC theory parts of B.Sc. physics and of electrical measurement courses in engineering colleges and polytechnics. A ballistic or sensitive galvanometer, a cell or battery and the coil under test are needed alongside the bridge; these are separate items. Keep the slide wire clean and avoid pressing the contact hard, and switch the battery off between readings to save it.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 bridges.
- Galvanometer and supply — state whether you also need a galvanometer, battery or test coils, which are separate catalogue items.
- Related bridges — if your course also covers AC bridge methods, add those bridges to the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the arms of this bridge?
The ratio arm has two dials of 1, 10, 100 and 1000 ohm each, and the resistance arm has three dials in decades of 0.1, 1 and 10. A slide wire calibrated into 170 equal parts and a 0.17 ohm slide in series with the unknown inductance complete the balancing arrangement.
What is the double key for?
It is a special double key fitted to the bridge and internally connected to the battery and galvanometer terminals, so the two circuits can be closed in the sequence the self-inductance method requires.
Is a galvanometer included?
The key is connected to terminals for an external battery and galvanometer, and they are not part of this listing. Add them to your enquiry if you need them.
Who manufactures the self inductance bridge?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics lab instruments manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The bridge is built at JLab’s own works rather than sourced from a trader, so colleges, universities, dealers and importers buy it direct from the maker, each one is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. The company holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise and Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Gambia in West Africa, Lithuania in Northern Europe, Guatemala in Central America and the Caribbean, the UAE in the Middle East and Morocco in North Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
