Self and Mutual Inductance Coils Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SI-8024
Jlab Export is a leading Self and Mutual Inductance Coils Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Self and Mutual Inductance Coils (code EL-SI-8024) are a pair of coils for electromagnetic induction experiments: a primary coil of 3000 turns and a secondary coil of 1000, 2000 and 3000 turns. They are used in physics labs to show self-induction and mutual induction and to measure inductance. Two smaller 500-turn versions are also listed. They are made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

Which Version of the Coils Do You Need?
| Version | Bobbin (as listed) | Primary | Secondary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (this listing) | Not stated | 3000 turns | 1000, 2000 and 3000 turns |
| Self and Mutual Inductance Coils 1 | Wooden bobbins, 25 mm diameter, per pair | 500 turns | 100, 250 and 500 turns |
| Self and Mutual Inductance Coils 2 | Wooden bobbin, 25 cm diameter | 500 turns | 500 turns |
Choose the standard pair for the highest turn counts, Coils 1 for three secondary values at lower turn counts, or Coils 2 for an equal-turns pair, and name the version in your enquiry.
What Are Self and Mutual Inductance Coils Used For?
When the current in a coil changes, the changing magnetic flux induces an EMF in the same coil (self-induction) and in any nearby coil linked by that flux (mutual induction). These coils let students see both effects, which are part of the electromagnetic induction chapter in class 12 physics and of first-year college electricity and magnetism. Typical experiments include switching a DC supply on and off through the primary while a galvanometer on the secondary shows the induced current, comparing the induced EMF for the 1000, 2000 and 3000-turn secondary values to see how it depends on the number of turns, and showing that the coupling, and so the induced EMF, falls as the two coils are moved apart.
In college labs the pair also serves as the unknown in inductance bridge and ballistic galvanometer measurements, and introduces the transformer principle with an AC supply on the primary. Limit the primary current with a series resistance where needed, and store the coils dry.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Version — the standard 3000-turn pair, Coils 1 or Coils 2.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
- Measuring and supply items — a galvanometer, an inductance bridge and a power supply are separate catalogue items and can go on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many turns do the coils have?
The standard pair has a 3000-turn primary and a secondary with 1000, 2000 and 3000 turns. Coils 1 has a 500-turn primary with a 100, 250 and 500-turn secondary, and Coils 2 has 500 turns on each coil.
What is the bobbin size?
The listing gives wooden bobbins of 25 mm diameter per pair for Coils 1 and a 25 cm diameter wooden bobbin for Coils 2, and does not state the size for the standard pair. Ask JLab to confirm the dimensions of the version you choose.
Who manufactures these coils?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes them at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. These coils are made at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy them factory-direct, each pair is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. Its GSTIN is 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and its Legal Entity Identifier is 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Canada in North America, Samoa in Oceania, Namibia in Southern Africa, the Dominican Republic in Central America and the Caribbean, and Morocco in North Africa. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
