Study of Frequency Modulation and Demodulation

Product Code : EL-SI-1200
Jlab Export is a leading Study of Frequency Modulation and Demodulation Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Study of Frequency Modulation and Demodulation (code EL-SI-1200) is a panel-mounted communication experiment for studying frequency modulation (FM) and demodulation in college physics and electronics laboratories. Students use it to measure the frequency modulation index, the upper and lower sideband frequencies and the frequency of the demodulated signal. A DC power supply and a 1 kHz square wave oscillator are built in. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the FM Modulation and Demodulation Panel Used For?

In frequency modulation the frequency of a carrier wave is varied in step with the modulating signal while its amplitude stays constant. The modulation index is the peak frequency deviation divided by the modulating frequency, and the FM signal carries sidebands above and below the carrier. With this panel students work out the modulation index, measure the upper and lower sideband frequencies, then demodulate the signal and compare the recovered frequency with the original. FM is less affected by amplitude noise than AM, which is why it is used for broadcast radio and two-way communication; paired with the AM panel, this gives a lab an AM and FM modulation kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an oscilloscope included?
No. An oscilloscope is normally used to view the modulated and demodulated waveforms, but it is not part of this listing; JLab’s oscilloscope is linked below.

How does it differ from the amplitude modulation panel?
The AM panel varies the carrier’s amplitude and lists a 100 Hz–1 kHz sine wave oscillator; this panel varies the carrier’s frequency and uses a 1 kHz square wave oscillator. Both measure the modulation index, sidebands and demodulated frequency.

Who manufactures this panel?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, builds it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it directly.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronics and communication training equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The panel is assembled in JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers buy it direct from the manufacturer. Its company registration is CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123, and it holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise. JLab exports worldwide and can ship to every region — the USA in North America, Poland in Eastern Europe, Cambodia in Southeast Asia, Qatar in the Middle East and Guyana in South America, for example.
