Jlab Export is a leading Frequency Wien Bridge Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Frequency Wien Bridge (code EL-SI-8071) is a Wien bridge designed to find the unknown frequency of a bridge oscillator in college physics and electronics labs. It has mechanically coupled R1 and R2 resistance dials, decade capacitor dials C1 and C2, ratio dials R3 and R4, and a built-in null detector with digital display, all wired to 4 mm sockets on a clearly laid-out board. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Frequency Wien Bridge Used For?
In a Wien bridge for frequency, one arm holds a resistor and capacitor in series and the next arm a resistor and capacitor in parallel, with two plain resistances as the ratio arms. The bridge balances at only one frequency, which depends on those resistances and capacitances. When the two resistances are kept equal and the two capacitances are equal, the frequency is f = 1/(2πRC) and the ratio arms must be in a 1 : 2 ratio. This instrument is built around that condition: R1 and R2 are mechanically coupled so they always read the same, C1 and C2 have matching decade dials, and the R3 and R4 dials (1, 10, 100, 1000 against 2, 20, 200, 2000) give the 1 : 2 ratio.
To find an oscillator’s frequency, connect its output to the bridge, set C1 and C2 to the same value and the R3 and R4 dials to a matching pair, then turn the coupled R1–R2 dial until the digital null detector reads a minimum (or the speaker is quietest on speaker-type units). Work out the frequency from the R and C settings, and cross-check it on an oscilloscope if one is available. The Wien bridge is often spelt “Wein bridge”; the correct name comes from the physicist Max Wien.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 bridges, supplied individually.
- Detector type — state whether you need the digital null detector or accept a speaker-type detector.
- Oscillator — the listing does not include a signal source, so add a bridge oscillator or AF oscillator to the enquiry if your lab needs one.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Frequency Wien Bridge measure?
The unknown frequency of a bridge oscillator. The frequency is calculated from the resistance and capacitance settings at which the bridge balances.
Why are R1 and R2 mechanically coupled?
So that both always have the same value. With equal resistances and equal capacitances, balance gives f = 1/(2πRC), and one knob sweeps the bridge through frequency.
What are the R3 and R4 ratio dials for?
They form the ratio arms. R3 reads 1, 10, 100 and 1000 and R4 reads 2, 20, 200 and 2000, giving the 1 : 2 ratio the balance needs when R1 equals R2 and C1 equals C2.
Does it have its own signal source?
A built-in source is not listed. The oscillator whose frequency you are measuring is connected to the bridge; it is ordered separately if you do not have one.
Who manufactures it?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes the bridge at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of electronic lab instruments, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The bridge is made at JLab’s own works, not bought in, so colleges, dealers and importers order straight from the factory, each unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Mexico in North America, Kenya in East Africa, Egypt in North Africa, Fiji in Oceania and Guyana in South America are a few examples. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
