Product Code : EL-SI-8060
Jlab Export is a leading Steam Boiler Element Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Steam Boiler Element (code EL-SI-8060) is a steam boiler of 2 to 3 litre capacity fitted with a heating element, made for use with the Callender and Griffiths bridge in college physics labs. It supplies the steady steam needed when a platinum resistance thermometer is taken to the steam point during resistance-thermometry experiments. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Steam Boiler Element Used For?
In the classic experiment with a Callender and Griffiths bridge, the resistance of a platinum resistance thermometer is measured at two fixed points — the ice point and the steam point — and then at an unknown temperature, so that the temperature can be worked out from the change in resistance. This boiler provides the steam point: water is heated by the built-in element, and the thermometer bulb is held in the steam until the bridge reading stops changing. Fill the boiler before switching on, never let it boil dry, and handle the steam outlet with care, as steam scalds.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the capacity of the boiler?
2 to 3 litres. It is fitted with its own heating element, so no separate burner is needed.
Which bridge is it designed for?
The Callender and Griffiths bridge, used with a platinum resistance thermometer. The bridge and thermometer are separate catalogue items, linked below.
What power supply does the element need?
The listing does not state the element rating or supply voltage. Give your mains voltage in the enquiry so JLab can confirm it.
Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes the boiler at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a heat and electricity lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The boiler is made in JLab’s own works, so colleges, dealers and importers deal with the maker directly, each unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. The company’s GSTIN is 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and its Legal Entity Identifier is 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Madagascar in East Africa, Namibia in Southern Africa, Chad in Central Africa, Brunei in Southeast Asia and South Korea in East Asia. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
Used Together With
- Callender & Griffith Bridge — the bridge this boiler is made for; its 50 cm slide wire is divided into 100 parts.
- Platinum Resistance Thermometer — fine platinum wire wound non-inductively on a mica frame, the sensor taken to the steam point.
- Temperature Co-efficient Resistance Coil — a coil in an oil-filled borosilicate tube for the temperature coefficient of resistance of copper.
- Special Water Bath — a brass-reservoir bath with a borosilicate beaker for heating specimens in water or oil.
