Demonstration Joint Meter (code EL-SI-1235) is a large classroom meter in a glass-fronted teak wood case that can be read from both sides, used by teachers to show a whole class the readings in electricity demonstrations. Plug-in dials set it up for AC volts, DC volts, AC current, DC current or galvanometer use, and the scale is 180 mm long. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Demonstration Joint Meter Used For?
Student meters are too small to read from the back of a classroom, so the teacher builds the circuit on the front bench and the class watches one large pointer. Because this case is glassed and scaled on both sides, students seated on either side of the bench, or behind the teacher, can follow the same reading. One instrument covers the usual demonstrations — current and voltage in series and parallel circuits, Ohm’s law, the difference between AC and DC, and induced currents shown on the galvanometer setting — by plugging in the dial for the quantity being measured. Change dials only with the circuit switched off, and keep the teak case away from damp storage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can this demonstration meter measure?
Its pluggable dials set it up as an AC or DC voltmeter, an AC or DC ammeter, or a galvanometer, so one meter serves most classroom electricity demonstrations.
How many dials are supplied?
The listing states 4 dials alongside five functions (AC volts, DC volts, AC current, DC current and galvo). Confirm the dial set you need when you ask for a quotation, and JLab will state exactly what is included.
Who manufactures it?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) builds the meter at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and supplies it directly as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The joint meter is made in JLab’s own workshop instead of being bought from a trader, which means schools, colleges, dealers and importers get it factory-direct, each unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and spares or repeat orders come from the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for instance Mauritius in East Africa, Ecuador in South America, Cyprus in Southern Europe, Ghana in West Africa and El Salvador in Central America and the Caribbean. School tenders are covered on the JLab lab tenders page.
