Jlab Export is a leading Sodium Vapour Lamp Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Sodium Vapour Lamp (code EL-ELA-5263) is a lamp that produces light from an excited, active form of sodium, used as a yellow light source in physics teaching and optics practicals at colleges and senior schools. It is listed in two types: high-pressure and low-pressure sodium lamps. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Sodium Vapour Lamp Used For?
In both types an electric discharge excites sodium vapour, which then gives off light. A low-pressure sodium lamp emits almost all of its light in the narrow yellow sodium D lines, so it is the type used as a monochromatic source for wave-optics practicals such as Newton’s rings, wavelength measurement with a diffraction grating on a spectrometer, and half-shade polarimetry. A high-pressure lamp gives broader, golden-white light and is better known from street and area lighting. For optics lab equipment, the low-pressure type is the usual choice. Either type needs a current-limiting supply rather than a direct mains connection, and takes several minutes to reach full brightness.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which sodium lamp type should a physics lab order?
Usually the low-pressure type, because its nearly single-colour yellow light suits interference, diffraction and polarimeter experiments. State the type in your enquiry.
Is a power supply included?
This listing does not mention one. JLab lists a sodium vapour lamp with power supply separately, linked below, for buyers who need both.
Who manufactures this sodium vapour lamp?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a laboratory and physics apparatus manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and located on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Lamps for its optics range come from its own works, so colleges, schools, dealers and importers buy factory-direct and replacements are handled by the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Uzbekistan in Central Asia, Mozambique in East Africa, Norway in Northern Europe, France in Western Europe and Portugal in Southern Europe.
