What Is a Gel Staining Box Used For?
After electrophoresis, the separated bands in a gel are usually invisible until the gel has been soaked in a stain and then de-stained or rinsed so the bands stand out; blotting membranes go through similar soaking and washing steps. Doing every step in one box means a fragile gel is moved less often.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the solution drained from the box?
Through the LDPE plug. The plug seals without leaking while the box is in use and is opened to let stain or wash solution run out, so the gel can stay in the box between steps.
What temperatures can the box and cover take?
Both resist temperatures from −70 °C to +70 °C, so the box can be used for cold or warm steps within that range.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of packs, the destination country and port or city, and the delivery terms you prefer, such as FOB or CIF.
Who makes this staining box?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
