What Is the Stomata Leaf Prepared Slide Used For?
Stomata are the tiny pores in the leaf epidermis through which carbon dioxide enters for photosynthesis and water vapour escapes during transpiration. Each pore is bordered by two guard cells that open and close it. With this slide students can see the pores and guard cells clearly, count stomata in a field of view, and compare what they see with the leaf peel they prepare themselves in the class 10 practical on showing stomata in a temporary mount.
