How Does It Compare with Related JLab Trainers?
| Trainer | Circuits listed | Hardware listed |
|---|---|---|
| This trainer (EL-COA-1138) | Adder, subtractor, integrator, differentiator | Two 0–5 V DC regulated supplies; ±15 V DC supply; two dual-range round meters; resistances and capacitors on the front panel |
| Study of Operational Amplifier as Differentiator and Integrator | Differentiator and integrator | Not detailed in its listing |
| Study of Operational Amplifier | Unity-gain buffer, non-inverting, inverting, summing and difference amplifier | Three DC regulated supplies: 0 to ±15 V and 0 to 6 V |
Choose this model when one bench should cover both the arithmetic circuits (adder and subtractor) and the calculus circuits (integrator and differentiator). The dedicated integrator–differentiator trainer suits labs that already own a summing and difference amplifier set.
What Is the Adder, Subtractor, Integrator and Differentiator Trainer Used For?
These four circuits show why the device is called an operational amplifier: it performs mathematical operations on voltages. They are standard practicals in B.Sc. physics and electronics, engineering and polytechnic labs, and ITI/TVET electronics courses. With equal resistors, the adder (an inverting summing amplifier) gives an output equal to the negative of the sum of its inputs, and the subtractor gives an output proportional to the difference between two inputs; the two 0–5 V DC supplies can be used to set the input voltages and the meters to check the result.
The integrator has a capacitor in the feedback path, so its output is proportional to the time integral of the input: a constant input produces a ramp and a square wave becomes a triangular wave. The differentiator places the capacitor at the input, so its output is proportional to the rate of change of the input: a triangular wave becomes a square wave. Because the differentiator’s gain rises with frequency it also amplifies noise, which students see on the CRO. These waveform experiments need a function generator and a CRO, the optional items in the listing.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 trainers.
- Optional instruments — state whether the audio frequency function generator TE-93 and CRO TE-96 should be quoted with the trainers.
- Op amp and component values — if your manual specifies particular IC or R and C values, include them so JLab can confirm.
Frequently Asked Questions
What experiments does this trainer cover?
The op amp as an adder, a subtractor, an integrator and a differentiator. The first two work with DC inputs; the last two are usually studied with waveforms from a function generator.
What supplies and meters does it have?
Two 0–5 V DC regulated supplies, a ±15 V DC supply and two dual-range round meters for the input and output voltages. Resistances and capacitors are mounted on the front panel.
Do I need a function generator and oscilloscope?
For the integrator and differentiator, yes. The listing names an audio frequency function generator TE-93 and a CRO TE-96 as optional items, quoted separately.
Which op amp IC is fitted?
The listing does not name the IC. State any IC your syllabus requires in the enquiry and JLab will confirm.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the quantity, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling requirements and any tender reference.
Who manufactures it?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of electronics trainers and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The adder, subtractor, integrator and differentiator trainer is produced in JLab’s own works instead of being bought from a trader, which means institutions, dealers and importers buy at source, every trainer is checked visually before it is packed, and repeat supplies come from the same manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Barbados in Central America and the Caribbean, Algeria in North Africa, Moldova in Eastern Europe, Botswana in Southern Africa and Angola in Central Africa. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
