How a Thermometer Pocket Is Used
The cone seats in a matching socket on the vessel and the thermometer is lowered into the pocket; a little heat-transfer liquid in the pocket helps the reading follow the temperature of the contents. The 45 mm pocket suits shallow insertion through a B14 neck, while the 200 mm pocket reaches deeper into a larger vessel with a B19 socket.
