Jlab Export is a leading Absorption Wave Meter Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Absorption Wave Meter (code EL-TAMI-1015) is an instrument for detecting radio-frequency radiation and finding its wavelength and relative strength by tuning an LC circuit. It is built around a variable capacitor with plug-in inductor coils and covers 100 kHz to 100 MHz with its coil set. It is used in electronics and communication labs. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Absorption Wave Meter Used For?
An absorption wave meter is a tuned circuit placed near a radio-frequency source. As the variable capacitor is turned, the circuit comes into resonance at the frequency f = 1/(2π√LC) set by the plugged-in coil and the capacitor; at that point it absorbs the most energy from the source, and the setting gives the frequency and hence the wavelength. Changing coils moves the instrument to another band. In B.Sc. electronics, engineering communication and polytechnic labs it is used to check the frequency of RF oscillators, to see whether an oscillator is working at all, to find harmonics, and to show resonance in an LC circuit in a practical way. Keep the coupling to the source loose — place the coil just close enough to get a clear peak — because close coupling pulls the source frequency and broadens the reading.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Coil set — confirm the number of coils and the bands they cover against the frequencies you need.
- Signal source — add an R.F. oscillator to the same enquiry if the lab needs a source to measure.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
What frequency range does it cover?
100 kHz to 100 MHz, using the plug-in coil set with the variable capacitor, which corresponds to wavelengths of about 3000 m down to 3 m.
How does it show the wavelength?
The LC circuit is tuned until it absorbs the most energy from the source. The capacitor setting with the coil in use gives the frequency, and the wavelength follows from wavelength = speed of light / frequency.
How many coils are supplied?
The listing mentions both plug-in inductors and a set of coils covering the full range, so confirm the exact coil set with JLab when you request a quote.
Who manufactures this wave meter?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronic lab instruments in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The wave meter is built at JLab’s own works, not bought from a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers buy factory-direct. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Canada in North America, Bulgaria in Eastern Europe, Botswana in Southern Africa, Qatar in the Middle East and Jamaica in Central America and the Caribbean.
