Product Code : EL-BE-6183
Jlab Export is a leading Bacillus Species Anthrax Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Bacillus Species Anthrax Model (code EL-BE-6183) is a medical microbiology teaching model on the genus Bacillus and on anthrax, the disease caused by Bacillus anthracis. Its listing describes two forms of human anthrax: pulmonary anthrax, known as woolsorters’ disease, and gastrointestinal anthrax. It lets students study a pathogen that is never cultured in teaching labs. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Anthrax Model Used For?
Bacillus anthracis is a large, spore-forming, Gram-positive rod that grows in chains. Unlike most of its genus it is non-motile, and it carries a protein capsule and toxins — protective antigen, lethal factor and oedema factor — that explain the severe toxaemia described above. Its spores survive in soil for many years, and anthrax is mainly a disease of grazing animals such as cattle, sheep and goats; people are infected through those animals or their products. That is the origin of the old name woolsorters’ disease: workers sorting wool and animal hair breathed in the spores. In people the commonest form is in fact cutaneous anthrax, which leaves a painless black scab, so lecturers usually add it to the pulmonary and gastrointestinal forms in the listing.
Most Bacillus species are harmless soil bacteria, such as Bacillus subtilis, while Bacillus cereus is a familiar cause of food poisoning, for example from reheated rice. Because live B. anthracis is handled only in specialised high-containment laboratories, a model is the practical way to teach it in colleges and medical schools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is pulmonary anthrax called woolsorters’ disease?
It was first recognised in workers who sorted wool and animal hair contaminated with anthrax spores and inhaled them, leading to anthrax pneumonia.
Is the model suitable for diagnosis or patient advice?
No. It is a classroom teaching aid and gives no diagnostic or treatment guidance.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of medical and microbiology teaching models in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The model is made in JLab’s own works, not sourced from a trader, so medical and veterinary colleges, dealers and importers buy from the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Ethiopia in East Africa, the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe, Australia in Oceania, DR Congo in Central Africa and Belgium in Western Europe.
