Monocular Research MicroscopeMonocular head inclined at 45 degrees, rotatable through 360 degreesQuadruple nosepiece; 135 x 140 mm mechanical stage

Choose this model when you want binocular viewing with built-in electric light and a full set of objectives from scanning power to oil immersion. The second binocular research listing details its head, nosepiece and mechanical stage, so compare the two with JLab if those features decide your purchase; the mirror-lit laboratory microscope suits rooms where a power supply at every bench is not practical.

What Is the Binocular Research Microscope Used For?

Viewing with both eyes is far less tiring than squinting into a single eyepiece, which matters in long college and research sessions examining stained tissues, microorganisms and blood smears. The bulb gives steady light whatever the weather or room layout. With the listed optics, total magnification runs from 20x (H5x eyepiece with the 4x objective) for finding the specimen to 1000x with the WF 10x eyepiece and 1500x with the H15x eyepiece on the 100x oil-immersion objective. The wide-field 10x eyepiece shows more of the slide at once, while the spring-loaded front of the 45x and 100x objectives retracts if it touches the slide, protecting both the slide and the lens.

Set the two eyepiece tubes to the distance between your eyes, start with the 4x objective, and move up through the powers; for the 100x, place a drop of immersion oil on the slide and wipe the lens with lens tissue as soon as you finish. Switch the bulb off between sessions to save its life, and keep the microscope under a dust cover.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Eyepieces — WF 10x, H5x or H15x as the paired set, or more than one pair if you need both low and high power.
  • Power supply — state the mains voltage and plug type at the destination so the bulb and lead suit it.
  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 microscopes, for example one per bench in a college practical lab.
  • Spares and slides — add spare objectives, eyepieces, prepared slides and cover slips to the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which eyepieces are supplied?
A pair of eyepieces, either WF 10x (wide field) or Huygenian H5x or H15x. State which pair you want when ordering.

Which objectives does it have?
4x, 10x, 45x and 100x oil immersion; the 45x and 100x are marked SL (spring-loaded).

What does SL mean on the objectives?
Spring-loaded: the front of the objective is mounted on a spring, so it pushes back instead of cracking the slide or the lens if it is lowered too far during focusing.

What is the maximum magnification?
1500x, with the H15x eyepieces and the 100x oil-immersion objective. The WF 10x eyepieces with the same objective give 1000x.

How is the specimen illuminated?
By an electrical bulb. The listing does not give the voltage, so tell JLab your country’s mains supply when you request a quote.

How is it different from the other Binocular Research Microscope listing?
That listing describes a 45-degree inclined binocular head rotatable through 360 degrees, a quadruple nosepiece and a 135 x 140 mm mechanical stage, while this one lists the bulb, eyepieces and objectives. Ask JLab to compare the two in your enquiry.

What should an export enquiry include?
Quantity, eyepiece choice, mains voltage, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling needs, and any tender reference.

Who manufactures this binocular research microscope?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India; it quotes directly as the manufacturer.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of student and research microscopes and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This microscope is built at JLab’s own works and not bought from a trader, so colleges, research labs, schools, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct; each unit is checked visually before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Algeria in North Africa, Bahrain in the Middle East, Afghanistan in South Asia, France in Western Europe and Tajikistan in Central Asia.
