Cultivation of Virus in Egg Model Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-BE-5217
Jlab Export is a leading Cultivation of Virus in Egg Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Cultivation of Virus in Egg Model (code EL-BE-5217) is a microbiology teaching model on growing viruses in embryonated (fertilised, developing) chicken eggs, one of the classic methods of virus cultivation. It is used in microbiology, virology and medical-laboratory-technology courses to explain where inside the egg a virus is introduced and how its growth is recognised. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Virus Cultivation in Egg Model Used For?
Viruses multiply only inside living cells, and the developing chick embryo with its membranes offers several kinds of cells in a sealed, sterile package. In the laboratory the egg is candled to locate the embryo and air sac, a small opening is made in the shell, the material is inoculated, and the egg is sealed and incubated. Each route suits different viruses: the chorioallantoic membrane, where viruses such as poxviruses and herpes simplex virus form visible pocks; the allantoic cavity, used for influenza and mumps viruses; the amniotic cavity, used for first isolation of influenza; and the yolk sac, used for some viruses as well as chlamydiae and rickettsiae.
Growth is recognised by changes such as death of the embryo, pocks on the membrane or haemagglutination by the harvested fluid. The method is still used to produce much of the world’s influenza vaccine, which makes the model a useful link between microbiology theory and public health.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which parts of the egg are used to grow viruses?
The chorioallantoic membrane, the allantoic cavity, the amniotic cavity and the yolk sac; the route is chosen to suit the virus being grown.
Is this a kit for actually growing viruses?
No. It is a teaching model that illustrates the method; eggs, reagents and an incubator are not part of this listing.
Who manufactures it?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of microbiology and biology teaching models and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The model is made at JLab’s own works, not sourced through a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers order from the maker and each unit is visually checked before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Tajikistan in Central Asia, Canada in North America, Luxembourg in Western Europe, Egypt in North Africa and Gabon in Central Africa. For tenders, see the JLab lab tenders page.
