Plain Stem or Stem with Cone?
A plain stem ends in open glass, so the funnel is held in a ring or clamp and its liquid runs into an open vessel below, such as a beaker or an unjointed flask. The stem-with-cone version instead seats in a flask socket and becomes part of a jointed set-up. The top socket takes a stopper of the same B size, and the straight body lets the liquid level fall evenly as it is drawn off.
