Closed-Flask Additions and Joint Sizes
Without the side tube, liquid entering a stoppered flask pushes gas back against the funnel and the flow stalls; the tube lets that gas pass to the top, so the liquid keeps dropping. The 250 ml size comes as B19 socket with B19 cone, B24 with B19 or B24 with B24, and the 500 ml as B24 with B19, B24 with B24 or B29 with B29. Unlike the pear-shaped version, this one is made in a 500 ml size.
