How Does It Compare with Similar JLab Trainers?
| Trainer | Breadboard | Clock | DC supplies |
|---|---|---|---|
| This Digital Logic Trainer (EL-BT-1490) | 1680 tie points | Variable, 1 Hz to 1 MHz | Fixed 5 V; variable 0 to ±18 V; 1 A |
| Digital Logic Trainer TTL and Logic Trainer Board | 1680 tie points | Variable, 1 Hz to 1 MHz | Fixed 5 V; 0 to ±18 V; 1 A |
| Bread Board Circuit Lab | 1680 tie points | Fixed 0.1 Hz, 1 Hz, 100 Hz and 1 kHz | ±12 V at 500 mA, each also variable from 0; fixed +5 V at 500 mA |
Between this trainer and the Bread Board Circuit Lab, the clocks differ: a variable 1 Hz to 1 MHz clock here, four fixed frequencies on the other.
What Is the Digital Logic Trainer Used For?
It serves the digital electronics practicals of diploma, degree and ITI courses, where students build combinational and sequential circuits on the breadboard using the ICs provided. At the slow end of the clock they can follow a counter state by state on the LEDs and the display; towards 1 MHz the same circuit shows how it behaves at speed. The built-in voltmeter checks logic levels and supply settings as the circuit is built.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of Digital Logic Trainers for the lab.
- Mains supply — the trainer is built for 230 V ±10%, 50 Hz AC; check that this matches your supply.
- Other trainers — the trainers compared above and linked below are separate items that can go on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it differ from the Digital Logic Trainer TTL and Logic Trainer Board?
The two trainers share the same specification: the same supplies, clock, switches, LEDs, display, voltmeter, breadboard and number of ICs provided.
What do the load regulation and ripple figures mean?
Load regulation of ±1% means the output moves by no more than 1% of the highest rated voltage between no load and full load; ripple and noise under 2 mV mean the supply adds very little noise to the logic levels.
How is the clock frequency set?
Three frequency ranges and a multiplier together cover the span from 1 Hz to 1 MHz.
How is the breadboard laid out?
Two terminal strips of 640 tie points each take the ICs and components, and four distribution strips of 100 tie points each carry the supply rails, giving 1680 tie points in all.
What should an export quotation request include?
Give the number of trainers, the destination country and the port or city, the delivery terms you want (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs and the tender reference if there is one.
Who makes the Digital Logic Trainer?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, manufactures it in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of digital logic trainers and other educational laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Digital Logic Trainer is made in JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers buy direct from the manufacturer and come back to it for repeat orders and spares. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example South Africa in Southern Africa, Turkmenistan in Central Asia, DR Congo in Central Africa, Estonia in Northern Europe and Sri Lanka in South Asia. Tender buyers can find details on the JLab lab tenders page.
