What Is the DSB/SSB AM Receiver Kit Used For?
It lays out the stages of a superheterodyne receiver. The RF amplifier lifts the incoming signal, the mixer combines it with the local oscillator output to shift it to a fixed intermediate frequency, and the two IF amplifiers give most of the gain and selectivity before detection. The beat frequency oscillator (BFO) provides the locally generated carrier that SSB reception relies on.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the kit have two detectors?
A diode detector simply follows the envelope of a DSB AM signal. An SSB signal has no carrier to give it an envelope, so the product detector mixes it with the BFO signal to recover the audio.
What frequency range does it tune?
525 to 1625 kHz, which spans most of the medium-wave AM broadcast band.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of kits, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF) and any tender reference.
Who makes the receiver kit?
JLab makes it in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of communication and electronics trainers in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Made in JLab’s own works, the receiver kit is bought from the manufacturer, not a trader. JLab exports worldwide and ships to every region, for example DR Congo in Central Africa, Tajikistan in Central Asia, Mexico in North America, Latvia in Northern Europe and Ghana in West Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
