Jlab Export is a leading Enterobacteriaceae Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Enterobacteriaceae Model (code EL-BE-6187) is a microbiology teaching model of the Enterobacteriaceae, the family of Gram-negative rods that includes Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella and Klebsiella. It helps students learn the shared features of the family and link each genus with its diseases, from typhoid to urinary tract infection. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Enterobacteriaceae Model Used For?
Members of the family share a short list of traits that students learn to test for: they are Gram-negative rods and facultative anaerobes, they ferment glucose, they are oxidase-negative and they reduce nitrate to nitrite. Most move with flagella all over the cell surface, although Shigella and Klebsiella are non-motile. Many live in the intestines of people and animals, which is where the name “enteric bacteria” comes from.
The family is a practical lesson in sorting look-alike rods. On MacConkey agar the lactose fermenters — Escherichia, Klebsiella and Enterobacter — give pink colonies, while Salmonella, Shigella and Proteus give pale ones, and the IMViC tests (indole, methyl red, Voges–Proskauer and citrate) separate them further. Each genus then carries its own disease story: E. coli as the commonest cause of urinary tract infection and a cause of diarrhoea, Salmonella Typhi as the cause of typhoid — with the Widal test, as described in NCERT class 12 — Shigella with dysentery, Klebsiella with pneumonia, and Yersinia pestis, traditionally placed in this family, with plague. The lipopolysaccharide endotoxin in their outer membrane ties the family to septic shock.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are they called enteric bacteria?
Because many members live in the intestine (enteron) of humans and animals, as harmless residents or as gut pathogens.
Which genera does this model include?
The listing does not specify them. Ask JLab for a description and photo with your quotation. The model is a teaching aid only, with no diagnostic or treatment guidance.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of microbiology lab equipment and biology models in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The model is made in JLab’s own works, not bought in, so colleges, training institutes, dealers and importers deal directly with the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Poland in Eastern Europe, Trinidad and Tobago in Central America and the Caribbean, the UAE in the Middle East, Hong Kong in East Asia and Kazakhstan in Central Asia.
