Flask with Side Arm Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SLE-5714
Jlab Export is a leading Flask with Side Arm Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Flask with Side Arm (code EL-SLE-5714) is a round-bottom distillation flask whose side arm leaves the neck at an angle of 75 degrees to the vertical axis, so that vapour from the boiling liquid can be led off to a condenser. It is used for simple distillation in school and college chemistry labs and is listed in 150, 250 and 500 ml sizes. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

Choose this flask when you want a choice of three sizes with a fixed side arm for a condenser. The 500 ml distillation flask states where its side arm sits on the neck, the long-neck distilling flask is a 250 ml option, and the plain round bottom flask suits heating and reflux where no side arm is needed.
What Is the Flask with Side Arm Used For?
A side-arm flask is the boiling vessel of a simple distillation set-up. The liquid mixture is heated in the round bottom, a bung in the neck carries a thermometer whose bulb sits level with the opening of the side arm, and the vapour travels along the sloping arm into a condenser, where it cools and runs into a receiver. In secondary school science it is used to show how two miscible liquids are separated or how pure water is recovered from a salt solution, and in class 11 and 12 chemistry and college labs it is used to purify liquids and observe their boiling points.
Add a few anti-bumping granules before heating, heat with a heating mantle, a water bath or over a wire gauze, and never distil to dryness. Keep the apparatus open to the air at the receiver end — a closed system must never be heated — and clamp the flask by the neck so that the weight of the condenser does not rest on the side arm.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Size — 150, 250 or 500 ml, with the quantity of each.
- Glass type — ask JLab to confirm it with the quotation if your specification names one.
- Matching items — condensers, bored rubber bungs and a heating mantle if you are building complete distillation benches; the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a flask with side arm used for?
Simple distillation. The liquid boils in the round bottom and the vapour leaves through the side arm to a condenser, so the flask, a thermometer and a condenser make a basic distillation set-up.
At what angle is the side arm?
75° to the vertical axis of the flask, so the arm slopes downwards and the condensing liquid flows away from the flask towards the condenser.
Which sizes are listed?
150, 250 and 500 ml. For a 500 ml flask with the side-arm position stated, see the distillation flask linked above.
Is a condenser or thermometer included?
No. The listing covers the flask only; condensers, bungs and a heating mantle are separate items, linked below, and can be added to the same enquiry.
What should an export quotation request include?
Sizes and quantities, destination country and port or city, your delivery terms (FOB, CIF or similar), packing or labelling needs and any tender reference.
Who manufactures this flask?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, quoting directly as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of laboratory glassware and teaching equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and working from Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The side-arm flask is made at JLab’s own works and not resold from a trader, which lets schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy factory-direct; each flask is visually inspected before it leaves, and repeat orders are made by the same manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Oman in the Middle East, Kazakhstan in Central Asia, Serbia in Southern Europe, the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe and Kenya in East Africa. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
