Gene Transfer Conjugation Transduction Model Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-BE-6175
Jlab Export is a leading Gene Transfer Conjugation Transduction Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Gene Transfer Conjugation Transduction Model (code EL-BE-6175) is a microbial genetics teaching model on how bacteria pass genes to other living bacteria by conjugation, through direct contact and a sex pilus, and by transduction, where a bacteriophage carries the DNA. It is aimed at class 12 biology and college microbiology and genetics. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Gene Transfer Model Used For?
Bacteria reproduce by binary fission, yet they also exchange genes with neighbouring cells — horizontal gene transfer. There are three classic routes: transformation, conjugation and transduction. This model covers the second and third.
Conjugation. A donor cell carrying the F (fertility) plasmid builds a sex pilus, draws a recipient lacking it alongside, and passes one strand of the plasmid across; both cells then complete the double strand, so the recipient becomes a donor too. When the F plasmid has joined the chromosome (an Hfr strain), chromosomal genes can follow it. Lederberg and Tatum first showed this mating in E. coli.
Transduction. A bacteriophage — a virus that infects bacteria — occasionally packages a piece of host DNA and injects it into the next cell it infects. In generalised transduction any fragment can be carried; in specialised transduction a temperate phage carries only the genes next to the site where it had joined the chromosome.
Students who know Griffith’s transformation experiment from NCERT class 12 can see all three routes together, and why plasmids moving by conjugation spread antibiotic resistance so quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between conjugation and transduction?
Conjugation needs direct contact between two bacteria through a pilus; transduction needs no contact, because a bacteriophage carries the DNA.
Does the model also cover transformation?
Its name lists conjugation and transduction only, and the listing does not describe its parts. Ask JLab for a description and photo before ordering.
How many must I order, and when is it sent?
The minimum is 10 units, sold individually; after a visual check, orders usually leave in 7–10 working days, plus transit for export.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of biology lab instruments and teaching models, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This model is built at JLab’s own works rather than traded, so colleges, schools, dealers and importers buy straight from the source. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Cameroon in Central Africa, Myanmar in Southeast Asia, New Zealand in Oceania, South Africa in Southern Africa and Latvia in Northern Europe.
