Impact Testing Machine Charpy Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SOMLE-8935
Jlab Export is a leading Impact Testing Machine Charpy Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Impact Testing Machine Charpy (code EL-SOMLE-8935) is a pendulum machine that measures the energy a notched specimen absorbs when it is broken in one blow, giving the relative impact toughness of metals, polymers, ceramics and composites. Being fast and economical, the test serves mainly for comparison and quality control rather than as a definitive measurement. The Charpy machine is built by JLab in Ambala, India.

How the Charpy Test Works
The specimen, normally 55 × 10 × 10 mm with a notch machined across one of its larger faces, lies as a simple beam on two supports with the notch facing away from the striker. The pendulum is released from a fixed height, hits the specimen at mid-span behind the notch and swings on. The energy absorbed in breaking it is the pendulum’s loss of potential energy: its weight multiplied by the difference between the drop height and the height it rises to after fracture.
Charpy and Izod Compared
An Izod test clamps the notched specimen upright as a cantilever and strikes it above the notch, whereas Charpy supports it at both ends. Results from the two methods are not interchangeable, so a toughness figure should always be quoted with the method used.
