What Is the Laser Printer Trainer Used For?
A laser printer forms each page by electrophotography: the laser writes a latent image on a charged photosensitive drum, toner is attracted to the written areas, and the toner image is transferred to the paper and fused onto it by heat and pressure. Around that process sit the parts a service technician checks first — the pickup clutch that starts each sheet, the feed and width sensors that follow the paper, the thermistor that reports fuser temperature, the stepper motor, the CRUM (customer replaceable unit monitor) chip on the toner cartridge, and the power, printer and door switches.
