Michelson Interferometer Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India

Michelson Interferometer

Product Code : EL-LE-1100
Jlab Export is a leading Michelson Interferometer Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Michelson Interferometer (code EL-LE-1100) is an optics apparatus for determining the wavelength of sodium light or laser light from the fringes produced when two beams recombine. It has highly polished plane slabs placed parallel at 45°, mirrors at right angles, an arrangement for micro measurement, and a laser light with its power supply fitted, so the fringes can be seen on a wall or paper. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Michelson Interferometer Used For?

In a Michelson interferometer, a partly reflecting plate set at 45° to the incoming light splits it into two beams that travel to two mirrors at right angles to each other, return, and recombine to form interference fringes; a second plate of the same glass, set parallel to the first, is normally used as a compensator so both beams pass through equal thicknesses of glass. When one mirror is moved with the micro-measuring arrangement, the fringes shift across the field. Counting the fringes that pass while the mirror moves a measured distance gives the wavelength: it equals twice the mirror movement divided by the number of fringes counted.

This is a standard experiment in B.Sc. and M.Sc. physics optics practicals and engineering physics labs, where students find the wavelength of laser light or of a sodium lamp. With the laser fitted, the fringes are bright enough to be projected onto a wall or a sheet of paper, so the whole group can follow them. Set the instrument on a firm, vibration-free bench, adjust the mirrors until the two laser spots overlap, and avoid touching the polished surfaces; never look directly into the laser beam.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
  • Sodium light source — a laser is fitted; if you also want to work with sodium light, add a sodium vapour lamp to the enquiry.
  • Mains voltage and plug type at your lab, so the laser power supply can be confirmed.
  • Destination and delivery terms for export orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can be measured with this Michelson interferometer?
The wavelength of sodium light or laser light, found by counting the interference fringes that shift while one mirror is moved through a measured distance.

Is a light source included?
Yes, a laser light with its power supply is fitted. A sodium lamp is not mentioned in the listing; JLab lists a Sodium Vapour Lamp with power supply separately.

Can the fringes be shown to a whole class?
Yes. With the laser source the fringes are easily visible on a wall or on paper, so a group can count them together.

What should an export quotation request include?
The quantity, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling requirements, and a tender reference if applicable.

Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes the interferometer at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of optics and physics laboratory instruments in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The interferometer is built in JLab’s own works, not sourced from a trader, so universities, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker; each unit is visually inspected before dispatch and repeat orders are handled by the same team. The company’s GSTIN is 06AADCJ9848D1ZE, and its Legal Entity Identifier is 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Taiwan in East Asia, Tajikistan in Central Asia, Malta in Southern Europe, Papua New Guinea in Oceania and Bhutan in South Asia. For tenders, see the JLab lab tenders page.
