Fractionating a Small Charge
Vapour rising through the Vigreux section partly condenses on the glass points and runs back, repeating the boil-and-condense step before the vapour leaves. With the pear-shaped body, this lets a small charge be fractionated without fitting a separate column. All three sizes use B14 joints, so one set of B14 condensers and receivers serves them all.
