Jlab Export is a leading SCR DC Circuit Breaker Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
SCR DC Circuit Breaker (code EL-PET-1428) is a power electronics training board for studying an SCR used as a DC circuit breaker that trips when the circuit exceeds a set limit. The breaker can be adjusted from 100 mA to 1.8 A, and built-in electronic crowbar circuitry demonstrates over-voltage and over-current trips under DC conditions. The board is manufactured in Ambala, India, by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab).

What Is the SCR DC Circuit Breaker Board Used For?
A mechanical breaker needs milliseconds to open its contacts, while an SCR in series with the load can interrupt a DC fault much faster — but only if something forces it off, because on DC an SCR keeps conducting once it has been triggered. The board lets students study that forced turn-off, see how the load affects it, and then use the circuit as an over-voltage and over-current protection device. Solid-state DC breakers and crowbar protection of this kind are found in DC power supplies, battery systems and drives.
What to Specify When Ordering
- The number of boards.
- Whether the bench DC supply, meter and oscilloscope should be quoted alongside.
- Companion commutation boards, such as Forced Commutated Circuits, for a fuller set of thyristor turn-off experiments.
- Destination, delivery terms and, for tenders, the tender reference.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the main SCR turned off?
By the auxiliary SCR: one push button triggers the main SCR and the other triggers the auxiliary SCR, which turns the main SCR off. In this kind of circuit the auxiliary SCR switches a charged commutation capacitor across the main SCR, and the brief reverse voltage turns it off; the capacitor bank lets students study commutation under different loads.
What does the crowbar circuitry demonstrate?
Over-voltage and over-current trips under DC conditions. A crowbar circuit protects a load by firing a thyristor across the supply as soon as a set limit is exceeded, so the fault is cleared quickly; on this board the two limits have their own potentiometers.
What supply does the board run on?
It operates on 30 V DC at 2 A. A 20 V DC zener-stabilised supply on the board feeds the two UJTs.
What other apparatus is required?
A 0–30 V DC, 2 A IC-regulated power supply, a 3¾-digit digital multimeter and a 20 MHz dual-trace cathode ray oscilloscope of the unearthed type. JLab lists a DC regulated power supply, a digital multimeter and a 20 MHz dual-trace oscilloscope as separate items; they are linked below and can be quoted together.
What is needed for an export quotation?
The number of boards, the destination country and port or city, the preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), packing or labelling instructions, and the tender reference where one applies.
Who manufactures the SCR DC Circuit Breaker board?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronics and power electronics trainers in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The circuit breaker board is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so engineering colleges, institutes, dealers and importers order factory-direct; every board is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders and spares are handled by the manufacturer. Its corporate identity number is CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123, and it is registered as a manufacturing enterprise under MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Mexico in North America, Uzbekistan in Central Asia, Lesotho in Southern Africa, Mozambique in East Africa and Cameroon in Central Africa. Tender buyers can consult the JLab lab tenders page.
