To Measure the Clock Pulse IC 7400 (code EL-DEECP-1194) is a digital electronics kit for measuring a clock pulse produced by a circuit using the NAND gate IC 7400, for college, polytechnic and ITI labs. It has 1 switch for input, an LED that shows the output and a terminal at which the clock pulse frequency is measured. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Clock Pulse Kit Used For?
A clock pulse is the regular square wave that steps flip-flops, counters and shift registers from one state to the next. The IC 7400 contains four two-input NAND gates; with a resistor-capacitor network such gates can run as a simple oscillator, and a NAND gate with one input used as an enable can switch a pulse train on and off.
In the practical, students operate the input switch, watch the LED to confirm the output, and connect a frequency counter or an oscilloscope to the terminal to read the frequency. From it they work out the period — the time for one cycle, equal to one divided by the frequency — and on an oscilloscope they can also see the waveform’s shape and its high and low times. The kit fits the sequential-logic topics of B.Sc. electronics, engineering diploma and ITI courses.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Measuring instrument — a frequency counter or oscilloscope is not part of this listing; see the links below.
- Power supply and clock frequency — neither is stated in this listing; give your mains voltage and ask JLab for the details.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the clock frequency measured?
Connect a frequency counter or an oscilloscope to the measurement terminal. Neither instrument is included in this listing; both are available as separate items.
Who manufactures this kit?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of digital electronics kits and educational laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 with its works on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The clock pulse kit is built there rather than bought from a trader, and each one is visually inspected before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Serbia in Southern Europe, Malawi in East Africa, Ecuador in South America, Lebanon in the Middle East and Ukraine in Eastern Europe.
