Product Code : EL-DEECP-1173
Jlab Export is a leading Study of 4 Bit Ripple Counter Forward and Reverse Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Study of 4 Bit Ripple Counter Forward and Reverse (code EL-DEECP-1173) is a digital electronics trainer for verifying the truth tables of a 4-bit ripple counter counting forward (up) and in reverse (down), built from four JK flip-flops. A 1 Hz clock pulse lets students follow the count one state at a time in college, polytechnic and ITI labs. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does a Ripple Counter Work?
In a ripple (asynchronous) counter each JK flip-flop has J and K held high so that it toggles on every clock edge, and only the first stage receives the clock; every later stage is clocked by the output of the one before it, so each stage divides the frequency by two. With negative-edge-triggered flip-flops, taking the clock for the next stage from Q makes the counter run forward through sixteen states, while taking it from Q-bar makes it run in reverse. The change “ripples” down the chain, so the delays add up — one reason faster designs use synchronous counters instead.
Students wire the forward and reverse versions using the front-panel sockets and the printed diagram, apply the slow 1 Hz clock, and record the output states to write the truth table for each direction. The experiment appears in digital electronics practicals for B.Sc. physics and electronics, engineering diploma and ITI courses, usually after the JK flip-flop itself has been studied.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Output indicators — the listing gives two; ask JLab to confirm the arrangement if your practical needs every counter output displayed at once.
- Mains supply — state your supply voltage, as the power-supply rating is not listed.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
What experiments does this trainer cover?
Verification of the truth tables of a 4-bit counter running forward and in reverse, built with four JK flip-flops.
What is the clock frequency?
The listing gives a 1 Hz clock pulse, slow enough to watch each count change on the indicators.
How does it differ from the up and down counter trainer using IC 74193?
This trainer builds a ripple counter from separate JK flip-flops, so students see how each stage clocks the next. The other uses a single IC 74193 synchronous up/down counter and is listed with four output indicators and switches for up or down counting and reset.
How many output indicators does it have?
The listing states two output indicators. If you need all four counter outputs shown together, raise it in your enquiry.
Who manufactures this trainer?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a laboratory and electronics training equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The counter trainer is produced at JLab’s own works, so colleges, dealers and importers order factory-direct, every unit is inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the maker itself. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Togo in West Africa, Uruguay in South America, Canada in North America, Australia in Oceania and Norway in Northern Europe.
