How Does a Vertical Thermosyphon Reboiler Work?
The reboiler stands upright beside the column. As liquid boils in the heated tubes, the mixture of vapour and liquid inside them becomes lighter than the liquid standing in the column base, so it rises back into the column while fresh liquid flows in at the bottom to take its place. The circulation keeps going for as long as heat is supplied.
