Conductivity attachment Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SI-8051
Jlab Export is a leading Conductivity attachment Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Conductivity attachment (code EL-SI-8051) is a specimen holder for measuring the resistance, and from it the resistivity and conductivity, of metal wires, rods and strips in physics and electrical engineering labs. It has separate current and potential terminals with the potential points 50 cm apart, and it takes specimens from a ½-inch diameter rod down to 42 SWG wire. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Conductivity Attachment Used For?
The attachment turns a resistance-measuring instrument into a resistivity set-up. Current enters the specimen through the current terminals, while the potential terminals pick off the voltage across a fixed 50 cm length, so the resistance of exactly that length is measured without the error of clamp and lead resistance. Connected to a double (Kelvin) bridge, or used with a current source and a potentiometer, it lets students compare the conductivity of copper, aluminium, brass or resistance-alloy samples. With the measured resistance R, the 50 cm length L and the cross-sectional area A from the specimen’s diameter, resistivity is R×A÷L and conductivity is its reciprocal.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 attachments.
- Your specimens — the shapes and sizes you plan to test, so JLab can confirm they fall within the ½-inch rod to 42 SWG range.
- Measuring instrument — add a double bridge, current source or potentiometer to the same enquiry if your lab needs one.
Frequently Asked Questions
What specimen sizes does the attachment hold?
Any size between a ½-inch diameter rod and 42 SWG wire, in the form of wires, rods or strips. Check unusual shapes with JLab before ordering.
Why does it have separate current and potential terminals?
So that only the specimen between the potential points is measured. Feeding current through one pair and sensing voltage through the other keeps the resistance of clamps and leads out of the result, which matters for short, thick, low-resistance samples.
Which instrument do I connect it to?
A low-resistance bridge with current and potential terminals, such as a double (Kelvin) bridge, or a DC current source with a potentiometer. The instrument is not part of this listing and is ordered separately.
Who manufactures it?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a technical educational equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 with its works on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The attachment is produced in-house rather than bought from a trader, so colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the maker, each piece is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region, with destinations such as Yemen in the Middle East, Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Belgium in Western Europe, New Zealand in Oceania and the USA in North America. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
Instruments to Use with the Attachment
- Double Portable Bridge — a portable Kelvin bridge with C1, P1, C2 and P2 four-terminal connections and a built-in galvanometer.
- Industrial Double Bridge — a double bridge with separate current and potential terminals for resistances from 2 micro-ohm to 11 ohm.
- Adjustable D.C. Current Source — a continuously adjustable DC current supply of up to 10 A for the current terminals.
- Potentiometer with Pencil Jockey — a constantan-wire potentiometer for the potential-drop method.
- Lock Type Micrometer Screw Gauge — a nickel-plated brass screw gauge with ratchet for measuring the specimen diameter.
