What Is the Data Communication Trainer Used For?
It puts several transmission media and a set of error-control protocols on one unit, so a message can be followed across different kinds of link and the links compared. The protocol section covers how a sender learns that a frame arrived and what it does when one is lost, and the ASCII LED indicators show the bit pattern of each character, tying that work back to the codes on the line.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the three protocols differ?
In Stop and Wait the sender sends one frame and waits for its acknowledgement before the next. Go-Back-N keeps several frames in flight and, after an error, resends the faulty frame and every frame after it. Selective Repeat resends only the frames that were lost or damaged, which uses the link more efficiently.
What kind of fibre does the optical link use?
A 1 metre SMA-type cable of PMMA, a plastic optical fibre, driven by a 660 nm LED. Plastic fibre has a low-loss window in visible red light and suits short links.
How does the infrared link differ from the fibre link?
The fibre link guides visible red light along a cable. The infrared link sends 920 nm light through free space, and its photodetector receiver gives a TTL logic output that digital circuits can read directly.
What does the modem section show?
Frequency shift keying, in which ones and zeros become two different tones that can travel on a telephone-type line, here connected through an RJ11 socket. A phase-locked loop detector turns the tones back into data.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
The number of trainers, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling needs and the tender reference if there is one.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electronics trainer and lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and located on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Data Communication Trainer is built in JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so colleges, dealers and importers order it straight from the maker, along with later repeat orders. JLab exports worldwide and can ship to every region — Mexico in North America, Uganda in East Africa, Papua New Guinea in Oceania, Botswana in Southern Africa and Mongolia in East Asia are a few examples. Tender buyers will find more on the JLab lab tenders page.
