What Is the Microprocessor Board Used For?
An 8085 board is used to learn how a microprocessor works at machine level. Programs are keyed in as machine codes, stored in RAM and run under the monitor program, while the seven-segment displays show addresses and data. The battery backup keeps a program in RAM when the board is switched off.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 8279 do on this board?
The 8279 is a programmable keyboard/display interface chip. It scans the keys and refreshes the seven-segment displays, so the 8085 does not have to do that work in software.
How does it differ from the LCD variant?
Both are 8085 boards operating at 6.144 MHz with battery-backed RAM, an 8K monitor EPROM and a +5 V / 1.5 A and ±12 V / 250 mA supply. This board has a 28-key keyboard and six seven-segment LED displays; the LCD variant has a 20x2 backlit alphanumeric LCD and a 101-key ASCII keyboard.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of boards, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, and any tender reference.

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronics trainers and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. JLab makes this board at its own works, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers deal directly with the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Chile in South America, Angola in Central Africa, Tajikistan in Central Asia, Armenia in Eastern Europe and Hong Kong in East Asia.
