What Is the TDM PCM Kit Used For?
PCM samples an analog signal, quantises each sample and sends it as a binary code word; time division multiplexing then interleaves the code words of both channels in one serial stream. The kit shows these steps at the transmitter, including the sync code that marks each frame and the added check bits.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the parity and Hamming selections?
A single even or odd parity bit detects an odd number of bit errors but cannot show which bit is wrong; a Hamming code adds several check bits, so a single-bit error can be located and corrected.
Why is there a slow mode?
At about 1 Hz per channel the stream can be followed bit by bit; the fast mode runs at about 240 kHz per channel.
How does it differ from the TDM Pulse Code Modulation Transmitter?
Both are two-channel TDM PCM transmitters. This kit’s sine outputs are 500 Hz and 1 kHz at 0 to 5 Vp-p; the TDM Pulse Code Modulation Transmitter gives 1 kHz and 2 kHz, adjustable up to about 10 Vpp.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of communication trainers and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and sited on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The kit is made in JLab’s own works, not bought from a trader, so colleges, dealers and importers order factory-direct and get repeat orders and spares from the same source. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Portugal in Southern Europe, Chad in Central Africa, Zambia in East Africa and Singapore in Southeast Asia.
