What Is the GPS Trainer Used For?
It is used to show how a GPS receiver finds satellites, measures their signals and works out a position fix, and how start conditions change the time to a first fix. The sky chart and signal-level displays make the satellite geometry and signal strength visible while the receiver runs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do L1 and C/A code mean?
L1 is the main civil GPS frequency, and the C/A (coarse/acquisition) code is the ranging code that every GPS satellite broadcasts on it for civilian receivers.
How do cold, warm and hot starts differ?
In a cold start the receiver has no stored satellite data or position and searches from scratch, so the first fix takes longest. A warm start uses stored almanac data and an approximate position but needs fresh orbit data, and a hot start has recent orbit data and fixes fastest.
What does −158 dBm tracking sensitivity mean?
Once satellites are acquired, the receiver can keep tracking signals as weak as −158 dBm, which helps where buildings or trees weaken the signal.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of electronics trainers and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The GPS Trainer is built at JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so buyers deal directly with the manufacturer for new and repeat orders. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Argentina in South America, Germany in Western Europe, Hong Kong in East Asia, Malawi in East Africa and Algeria in North Africa.
