What Is the Microcontroller Board Used For?
It is used to learn microcontroller programming and interfacing. Programs entered on the keypad are checked on the display, and the peripheral chips give the parallel ports, timer/counter and serial link that interfacing exercises are built on.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the 8255, 8253 and 8251 for?
The 8255 is a programmable peripheral interface for parallel input and output, the 8253 a programmable interval timer/counter, and the 8251 a USART for serial communication. The board carries two 8255s.
How does it differ from the Microprocessor Board (LED Variant)?
Both drive a six-digit seven-segment display through an 8279 and have the same +5 V / 1.5 A and ±12 V / 250 mA built-in supply. The Microprocessor Board (LED Variant) is an 8085 board with a 28-key keyboard and an 8K monitor EPROM; this board has a 25-key hexadecimal keyboard and a 16K-byte monitor EPROM.
What should an export enquiry include?
The quantity, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, and any tender reference.
