Distortion Factor Meter Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-TAMI-1017
Jlab Export is a leading Distortion Factor Meter Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Distortion Factor Meter (code EL-TAMI-1017) is an instrument for measuring the unwanted distortion added by an amplifier across the audio range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. A pure sine wave from its built-in generator is fed to the amplifier, the amplified signal passes through its filter circuit, and the distortion is read on its meter as a percentage. It works on 220 V, 50 Hz mains. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Distortion Factor Meter Used For?
An ideal amplifier would give out an exact, larger copy of the sine wave put in. A real amplifier adds harmonics — multiples of the input frequency — and the distortion factor tells how large they are compared with the whole output. The meter does this by filtering out the original sine-wave frequency and measuring what is left, which is then read as a percentage. In B.Sc. electronics, polytechnic, engineering and ITI electronics labs it is used to measure the distortion of audio and transistor amplifiers, to show how distortion rises as an amplifier is driven towards clipping, to compare amplifier classes, and to demonstrate how negative feedback reduces distortion. Set the amplifier to a known output level, keep the leads short and well screened, and repeat the reading at several frequencies across the audio range.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Mains supply — the meter works on 220 V, 50 Hz; state your local supply.
- Test bench — add a power output meter, an oscilloscope or an amplifier trainer if students will run the complete experiment.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a separate signal generator?
No, a sine wave generator is built in, together with the filter circuit and the meter, so it can feed the amplifier under test directly.
What frequency range does it cover?
The audio range, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
How is the result shown?
As a percentage on the meter: the share of the amplifier output that is distortion rather than the original sine wave.
Who manufactures this distortion factor meter?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronic lab instruments and engineering lab equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This meter comes from JLab’s own works, not from a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers buy factory-direct. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example the USA in North America, Rwanda in East Africa, Qatar in the Middle East, Guyana in South America and Vietnam in Southeast Asia. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
