Enzymes & Reaction Model

Product Code : EL-BE-6076
Jlab Export is a leading Enzymes & Reaction Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Enzymes & Reaction Model (code EL-BE-6076) is a biology teaching model of how enzymes work: an enzyme binds its substrate at the active site, speeds up the reaction and is released unchanged to act again. It supports the enzyme section of class 11 biomolecules and college biochemistry. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Enzymes and Reaction Model Used For?

Enzymes are biological catalysts, almost all of them proteins. They lower the activation energy of a reaction so that it runs quickly at body temperature. The substrate fits into the active site to form an enzyme–substrate complex; the products then leave and the enzyme is free again. Teachers use the model to compare the lock-and-key idea with the induced-fit model, in which the active site changes shape slightly as the substrate binds.

It also helps with the factors students must know: activity rises with temperature to an optimum and then falls; each enzyme has an optimum pH, acidic for pepsin in the stomach and alkaline for trypsin in the small intestine; and adding substrate raises the rate only until the active sites are saturated. Inhibitors complete the picture — malonate competes with succinate for succinic dehydrogenase, while allosteric inhibitors bind elsewhere and change the enzyme’s shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an enzyme experiment kit?
No — it is a teaching model, and the listing does not describe its parts, size or material, so ask JLab for a photograph. For an enzyme experiment kit for school practicals, see the kits linked below.

Why do enzymes stop working at high temperatures?
Heat breaks the weak bonds that hold the protein in shape, so the active site loses its form and the enzyme is denatured.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of biology models and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. JLab produces this model in its own works rather than reselling bought-in goods, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the manufacturer and keep one source for repeat orders. JLab has MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 (manufacturing enterprise) and Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Liberia in West Africa, Lithuania in Northern Europe, Namibia in Southern Africa, DR Congo in Central Africa and Spain in Southern Europe. Tender buyers should see the JLab lab tenders page.
