It is suited to senior-school biology, college microbiology and medical or nursing teaching, where it introduces the logic of linking a germ to an illness. Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) produces it at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Koch's Postulate Model Used For?
Teachers use it to take students through the four steps Robert Koch set out while working on anthrax and tuberculosis, the disease whose bacillus he identified:
- The microorganism is found in every case of the disease and not in healthy individuals.
- It is isolated from the sick host and grown in pure culture.
- The cultured organism produces the same disease when introduced into a healthy, susceptible host.
- The same organism is recovered from that host and identified as identical to the original.
The second step depended on solid culture media, and the use of agar and the Petri dish both came out of Koch’s laboratory. Good lessons also cover the limits: some pathogens, such as the leprosy bacillus, cannot be grown on ordinary media; healthy carriers of typhoid break the first rule; and viruses need living cells, so modern microbiology adds molecular versions of the postulates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are Koch’s postulates still taught?
They set out clear, testable evidence for cause and effect in infectious disease, and the reasoning still guides how new pathogens are investigated, even though not every microbe meets all four steps.

Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, at its own works in Ambala, Haryana.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of microbiology and biology lab equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The model is built in its own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers get factory-direct quotations and can reorder from the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Cambodia in Southeast Asia, the USA in North America, Colombia in South America, Oman in the Middle East and Lesotho in Southern Africa.
