What Is the Aedes Aegypti Model Used For?
Aedes aegypti is a small, dark mosquito with white bands on its legs and a white, lyre-shaped mark on its thorax. Unlike the night-biting Anopheles and Culex, it bites mainly during the day, and it breeds in clean water held in containers around homes — pots, old tyres, water coolers and flower vases. Its eggs stick to container walls and can survive drying until the water returns. Only the female bites, and in doing so she can pass on the viruses that cause dengue, chikungunya, Zika and yellow fever.
Class 11 biology names Aedes among the insect vectors, and class 12 connects it with dengue and chikungunya and with control by removing stagnant water. With the model in front of them, students learn to recognise the mosquito and why emptying and covering stored water matters; it also suits college zoology and community-health programmes.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I tell Aedes aegypti from other mosquitoes?
Look for the black-and-white banded legs and the white lyre-shaped pattern on the thorax. It is also a daytime biter, while Anopheles and Culex bite mostly at night.
Does the listing say which stage or sex the model shows?
No. Ask JLab to confirm the stage, sex, size and material with your quotation; the mosquito life-cycle model below covers the developmental stages.
Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
The model is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, which trades as JLab — an Indian manufacturer of biology models and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Production stays in JLab’s own works instead of being bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers order factory-direct and every model is checked visually before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Austria in Western Europe, Malta in Southern Europe, Sri Lanka in South Asia, Sudan in North Africa and Congo in Central Africa.
