What Is the Fixed Voltage Power Supply Used For?
A meter bridge needs a low-voltage DC source to drive current through the bridge wire and the resistances being compared, and a 2 V lead accumulator or a dry cell has traditionally done the job. This stabilized 2 V supply takes its place, so practicals are not held up by cells that have run down or accumulators that need recharging.
