Forced Convection Apparatus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India

Forced Convection Apparatus

Product Code : EL-ELA-5512
Jlab Export is a leading Forced Convection Apparatus Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Forced Convection Apparatus (code EL-ELA-5512) is a heat transfer unit in which a centrifugal blower drives air through a heated copper test pipe, 30 mm in diameter and 500 mm long, for convective heat transfer experiments. An orifice plate and U-tube manometer measure air flow, and twelve type K thermocouples feed a 12-channel indicator. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with the JLab Heat Transfer In Forced Convection Unit?

ModelHeating and test sectionMeasurement
This apparatus (EL-ELA-5512)Copper test pipe, 30 mm diameter x 500 mm; 300 W heater set by a 0–250 V dimmerOrifice plate with U-tube manometer; digital voltmeter and ammeter; 12 type K thermocouples on a 12-channel indicator

Choose this apparatus when you want a fully specified copper test section with twelve thermocouple points and a manometer range given in the listing; the other unit suits labs that follow its nichrome-heater, six-sensor layout.

What Is the Forced Convection Apparatus Used For?

Forced convection is the transfer of heat from a surface to a fluid that a fan, blower or pump moves past it. Here the blower pushes air through the heated copper pipe: the orifice plate and manometer give the air flow rate, the dimmer sets the heater input read on the voltmeter and ammeter, and the thermocouples give temperatures at twelve points. From these readings students work out the heat supplied, the average heat transfer coefficient and the Reynolds and Nusselt numbers, see how the coefficient changes with air flow and heat input, and compare their results with standard correlations such as the Dittus–Boelter equation.

It is a standard experiment in the heat transfer lab of mechanical and chemical engineering degree courses and in diploma (polytechnic) programmes, and a useful item for any institute building up its engineering lab equipment in India or abroad.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Mains supply — the heater and blower are listed for 230 V AC; check that this matches your laboratory supply.
  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
  • Other heat transfer experiments — natural convection, pin fin and lagged pipe apparatus are separate items that can be quoted on the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the size of the test pipe?
It is a copper pipe 30 mm in diameter and 500 mm long.

How is the air flow rate measured?
By an orifice plate in the air line, with the pressure difference read on a U-tube manometer of 0–300 mm water column range.

How is the heat input controlled and measured?
The 300 W heater is set with a dimmer of 0–250 V AC, 2 A range, and its input is read on a digital voltmeter (0–500 V AC) and a digital ammeter (0–2 A AC).

How many temperature points are there?
Twelve. The apparatus has 12 type K thermocouples connected to a 12-channel temperature indicator with a selector switch.

What experiments can students perform?
The usual set is to find the average heat transfer coefficient for air flowing through a heated pipe, compare it at different air flow rates and heat inputs, plot the temperature distribution along the pipe, and check the results against a forced-convection correlation.

What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the quantity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.

Who manufactures the forced convection apparatus?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, builds it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of engineering and science teaching equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The apparatus is built at JLab’s own works rather than sourced from a trader, so engineering colleges, polytechnics, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, every unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. The company is registered as an MSME manufacturing enterprise (Udyam UDYAM-HR-01-0003849) and holds Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Argentina in South America, Jordan in the Middle East, Ivory Coast in West Africa, Myanmar in Southeast Asia and Mexico in North America. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
