Fitting the Ball to Its Socket
Because the ball turns slightly inside the cup, the joint can be set a little out of line without forcing the glass. Wipe both surfaces clean before joining, and hold the pair with a pinch clamp, since a spherical joint has no locking feature of its own. Pick the female cup by the same S number as the ball.
