Photo Multiplier Tube 931 with Housing Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-OED-1063
Jlab Export is a leading Photo Multiplier Tube 931 with Housing Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Photo Multiplier Tube 931 with Housing (code EL-OED-1063) is a type 931 photomultiplier tube supplied in a housing, for detecting light from dim sources in physics and opto-electronics labs. A photomultiplier is a vacuum tube that turns light into a measurable current through photoemission followed by repeated secondary emission, so it responds to light far too weak for an ordinary photocell. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Photomultiplier Tube Used For?
Light striking the photocathode releases electrons, and each electron is accelerated onto a chain of electrodes (dynodes) that each give off several more, so a single photoelectron grows into a pulse of current large enough to measure. That gain makes the photomultiplier the detector of choice when light is very faint — for example after narrow slits or colour filters, in photoelectric-effect work and in advanced B.Sc. and M.Sc. optics and modern-physics experiments. The housing keeps out stray light and holds the tube in place on the bench.
A photomultiplier needs a stable high-voltage supply and a sensitive current meter, which are not part of this listing. Never expose the tube to room light while the high voltage is on, keep the housing closed during use, and handle the glass tube gently.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
- Whether you need an optical bench with it, as the bench is an extra.
- The supply and meter you plan to use, so JLab can advise on matching items for your experiment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this listing include?
The type 931 photomultiplier tube with its housing. An optical bench is extra, and the listing does not mention a high-voltage supply or meter, so ask for those separately if you need them.
How is it different from a photo cell?
Both rely on photoemission, but the photomultiplier adds stages of secondary emission that multiply each photoelectron many times, so it can detect much weaker light than a single-stage photocell.
Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
Behind the JLab name is Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of opto-electronic and physics laboratory apparatus in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Items such as this housed tube leave from JLab’s own works, not a trader’s shelf, so universities, research labs, dealers and importers buy factory-direct; each piece is checked visually before dispatch and follow-up orders are handled by the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Mexico in North America, Qatar in the Middle East, Tunisia in North Africa, Honduras in Central America and the Caribbean, and Vanuatu in Oceania.
