Jlab Export is a leading Structural Basin Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Structural Basin Model (code EL-ERAM-4406) is a geology teaching model of a structural basin — a large-scale structural depression of rock strata formed when previously flat-lying layers are warped by tectonic forces. Its key teaching point is the age pattern: the exposed strata become progressively younger from the outside in, with the youngest rocks at the centre. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Structural Basin Model Used For?
A structural basin is easiest to picture as a bowl of stacked rock layers: the strata dip inward from every side, so when erosion cuts across them the outcrops appear on a geological map as rough rings, oldest on the rim and youngest in the middle. A structural dome is the reverse, with the oldest rocks at its centre. A basin behaves like a syncline in every direction at once — a bowl rather than a trough — and, despite the name, it need not be a low point in the present landscape. Well-known examples include the Michigan Basin and the Paris Basin, and such basins often hold groundwater, coal, oil or gas within their layers.
The model supports geological map reading and structural geology in college and university courses, and the folding and warping of the crust in senior school geography.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the youngest rocks in the centre of a structural basin?
Because the layers were warped downward into a bowl. Erosion bevels the surface flat, exposing the deeper, older layers around the edge and leaving the higher, younger layers in the middle.
How is a structural basin different from a structural dome?
A dome is warped upward, so its age pattern is reversed: the oldest exposed rocks are in the centre and the youngest around the outside.
What are the order terms?
At least 10 units, sold individually and usually dispatched within 7–10 working days; export transit time is extra.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of geology, geography and general science teaching equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. It builds models in its own works instead of reselling, so schools, universities, dealers and importers order straight from the factory. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Canada in North America, France in Western Europe, Lesotho in Southern Africa, Spain in Southern Europe and Paraguay in South America.
