How Does It Compare with Other JLab Oscilloscopes?

Choose this CRO for 30 MHz dual-channel work on a 6 inch screen. The Dual Trace Oscilloscope is the 20 MHz option, the Cathode Ray Oscilloscope can be ordered in 10, 20 or 30 MHz versions, and the Digital Storage Oscilloscope 40MHz digitises and stores the waveform for later measurement.

What Is the 30 MHz Dual Channel CRO Used For?

An analogue oscilloscope draws the input voltage directly on the CRT as a live trace, which makes it a favourite teaching instrument: students see a waveform change the moment they turn a knob in the circuit. In B.Sc. physics, polytechnic, engineering and ITI labs this CRO is used to measure amplitude, period and frequency, compare input and output of amplifiers and filters on its two channels, study rectifier ripple, and form Lissajous figures in X-Y mode to compare the frequency and phase of two signals. The TV-V and TV-H trigger modes with the sync separator suit television and video-signal practicals in electronics courses.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — how many oscilloscopes your lab benches need.
  • Signal sources — a function generator from the list below is a separate item that can be quoted on the same enquiry.
  • Tender and shipping details — any tender reference, plus packing or labelling requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the vertical sensitivity range?
From 5 mV/div to 5 V/div within ±3% in 10 steps. Switching in the x5 magnifier extends it to 1 mV/div to 1 V/div within ±5%, for small signals.

Can it display Lissajous figures?
Yes. In X-Y mode one channel drives the horizontal deflection and the other the vertical, and the phase difference between the two axes stays below 3° from DC to 50 kHz, so the figures closely reflect the frequency ratio and phase of the two signals.

Which trigger options does it offer?
Auto, NORM, TV-V and TV-H modes, taken from the VERT, CH1, LINE or EXT source. In auto mode it triggers from 20 Hz to 30 MHz on the vertical signal, and NORM needs 0.5 div internally or 0.5 Vp-p on the external input.

What is the maximum input voltage?
250 V (DC + AC peak) at 1 kHz, into a 1 MOhm input.

What accessories come with it?
A power cable, two probes and an instruction manual.

How does it differ from the Dual Trace Oscilloscope?
The Dual Trace Oscilloscope is a 20 MHz instrument with an 80 x 100 mm CRT and a x5 sweep magnifier. This CRO has a 30 MHz bandwidth, a 6 inch rectangular CRT with an 8 x 10 div graticule and a x10 sweep expansion.

What should an export enquiry include?
The quantity, the destination country and the port or city of delivery, the delivery terms you prefer (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling instructions and the tender reference where there is one.

Who manufactures this oscilloscope?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and supplies it as the manufacturer.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of oscilloscopes, electronics trainers and science laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The CRO is assembled at JLab’s own works and not bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the maker and come back to it for repeat orders. JLab holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 (manufacturing enterprise) and Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. It exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Jamaica in Central America and the Caribbean, Australia in Oceania, Bhutan in South Asia, Ghana in West Africa and Poland in Eastern Europe. Tender buyers will find details on the JLab lab tenders page.
